Wow was that a dry spell. But when you only get two hours of sleep a night, I guess there’s good reason. And I don’t want to mislead anybody by saying “was” a dry spell, since I don’t really predict being all that prolific anytime soon.
Basically, I’m still in school, working, and now attending the Portland Police Reserve Academy. All good stuff, but it doesn’t leave much time to do anything but drool in the brief downtime I might occasionally get.
I’ve found a new love for math, which could be because I’ve managed to hook myself up with an instructor who’s actually quite good, and I’m now hoping to follow him all the way through the various levels of calculus. There are a couple of us in his class who feel kind of like fanboys, and we break out into cheers of “go Mr. Funk” everytime he elaborates on one of his examples.
Okay, so we don’t cheer, but we are pretty damn geeky. You see, he has a coup d’état planned for the math department. Well, alright, not a coup, just a plan to take over someday. The point is, we’ve all voiced our undying support and loyalty should he need us to storm the campus gates and seige the enemy (especially the math instructor I had last quarter… but we don’t speak the name that shall not be named).
Other than that, I haven’t even seen all that many movies lately, and the ones I have seen were mostly crap. I don’t even remember tham all. Pretty sad, really.
They’ve made me a supervisor at work, which basically just means “work-bitch”. I have to work all kinds of split shifts, all different hours of the day, so I don’t have any consistent sleep schedule, and the stress level has gone up by a factor of ten.
Why, you ask? Well, it certainly isn’t for the fifty cent an hour raise, that’s for damn sure. I think I had it in my head that it would be good for experience of some such idiotic thing like that. I really don’t know what I was thinking. Maybe I wasn’t. They must’ve caught me off my guard.
In any case, that’s all I have for you little chickadees right now. If my life gets interesting, I’ll try to find the time to elaborate.
